This album is a definite must-have for anyone who loves music. The Information, according to Wikipedia, is the 10th album Beck has released. From what I’ve read, Beck has always had a somewhat open view on his music, encouraging people to take it and remix it (don’t quote me on that). The music on this album is definitely “Beck style” and great as always. For what it’s worth I’m listening to it right now as I write this. It is truly great music, innovative, atypical and engaging. You most likely have heard one or two Beck songs in the past so I won’t try to describe the way this album sounds, you really have to experience it for yourself. The best way I can describe this album is that it draws you in and when it’s over you wish there was more. Incidentally I once heard a great quote regarding how useless it is to describe music with words. “Using words to describe music is like using dance to describe architecture.”
An interesting and fun feature of this album is that there is no album art. Well, none yet. There’s just a blank inlay and you are provided with a sheet of stickers. That’s right, you make your own album art. There are four different sheets of stickers you could get, but only one sheet comes with each album.
Go get this album. You won’t regret it.
