Nicholas Cage happens to be one of my favorite actors. I don’t know why, but there’s just something about him that appeals to me. But even though he starred in Ghost Rider I was completely disappointed in the film.
The plot was sketchy and disjointed and the acting was below sub-par. I got the feeling that it was trying to have a comic book feel but it completely missed the mark. Instead it was cheezy, akin to a bad 80’s B-movie.
On a side note I was somewhat disturbed by all the dark imagery. Maybe it’s because I see Satan as a real adversary, but it disturbed me in the same way I was disturbed by The Stand. Though, The Stand was a much better movie, they both disturb me on a spiritual level.

I completely agree. The movie seemed to be more about the darkness than the fact that “ghost-rider” rebels against Satan and choses to “judge” evil himself and wipes out as many baddies as possible in order to get revenge for being the “rider” because he can’t fight Satan himself…. This is a job for Christ! If you think this was bad, you should do your research on Marvel’s plan to do another Punisher movie. It’s almost as if they want the 80’s super-hero movie movement to regain the negative momentum it once had. Marvel just doesn’t seem to take this serious anymore. They know we want to see these heroes and todays technology put together bad enough to make their box office weekend and thats all they care about. I only wonder if the soon to release Iron-man will be as good as it looks??? With the very classy tribute to Christopher Reeve with Superman Returns and the Dark Knight style of the new batman’s… Marvel better get back in the game!!
What did you think of NEXT or The Nat’l Treasure, Book of Secrets? I liked NEXT. You gain a larger respect when you watch the special features to see all the cool tech that went into that movie. Is Cage turning into a B-actor? Can’t be…. maybe.
If you really pay attention to Nicholas Cage’s acting, it is pretty bad. He has no personality or what I should say is the same personality in every movie he’s in.
Actors should be able to play their parts with a unique personality IMO. Ironically I still enjoy a lot of his movies, Face-off being my favorite.
I didn’t like Ghost Rider at all. It was kind of cheesy even.
On another note I am looking forward to the Ironman movie, the new Incredible Hulk and the new Batman. Also I’ve heard rumors about a new X-Men movie featuring Gambit, which needless to say will be awesome.
